Scorpius is an imposing constellation in the southern sky. Due to its southern location, the constellation can only be found from Central Europe in summer, close to the southern horizon. North of 40th latitude, it is only partially visible.
It is located near the centre of the Milky Way and therefore contains a variety of star clusters and nebulae.
