Perseus is a constellation in the northern sky. It is best seen in autumn and winter skies, and is located in the middle of the Milky Way. The brightest star Mirfak is surrounded by numerous other stars. Together they form the open star cluster Melotte 20.
In August the shooting stars of the Perseids seem to come from this constellation.
