Norma is a relatively inconspicuous constellation south of prominent Scorpius. None of its stars are brighter than 4th magnitude. The ribbon of the Milky Way runs through Norma, so it contains a variety of nebulous objects, such as open star clusters, globular star clusters and gas nebulae.
Norma is so far south that it cannot be observed from central Europe.
