Lepus is a constellation near the celestial equator south of the constellation of Orion. Two of its stars are brighter than 3rd magnitude.
Globular cluster M79 is located in Lepus. This can already be observed with binoculars as a foggy spot. In a medium-sized telescope, the edge region can be resolved into individual stars. However, it is difficult to observe in our latitudes because it is low in the sky.
