Canis Minor is a small constellation north of the celestial equator. The main star Prokyon is a strikingly bright, whitish star.
The ribbon of the Milky Way stretches east of the constellation. Canis Minor can be observed in winter and is visible anywhere on Earth except inner Antarctica.
