Aquila is a prominent constellation of the northern summer and autumn sky.
Along with Cygnus and Lyra, Aquila is one of the most prominent summer constellations. Due to the strikingly bright main star Altair (α Aquilae), the southern corner of the extended summer triangle, it can be easily found in the summer and autumn sky.
