α Apodis is the brightest star in the constellation Apus. Nevertheless, it appears to the naked eye with an apparent brightness of 3. 83 mag only as a relatively dim object.
In the night sky, the star can be found by an imaginary line extending to the south pole through α Centauri and α Circini.
