Alioth


Alioth (ε Ursae Maioris) is the brightest star in the constellation Ursa Major. Alioth has an apparent magnitude of 1.8 mag and is about 83 light-years (ly) away.

It is slightly brighter than Dubhe and Alkaid, making it the brightest star in the constellation Ursa Major, as well as one of the 50 brightest stars in the night sky.
