Capella


Capella (α Aurigae) is the brightest star in the constellation Auriga. It is about 40 light-years (ly) away and has an apparent magnitude of 0.1 mag.

Capella is the 6th brightest star in the night sky and the third brightest star in the northern sky after Arcturus and Vega.

Capella forms the northern tip of the winter hexagon.
