Hydra is the largest constellation in the night sky. It extends below the constellations Cancer, Leo and Virgo and can be seen from our latitudes in spring deep on the southern horizon.
Hydra is not very distinctive as most of its stars are faint. Only the main star Alphard is strikingly bright with 1.99 mag.
